Following on from the success of the Scottish Africa Business Association’s (SABA) Scotland London Africa Week, VG Energy and Norco are pleased to announce that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed, binding the two companies in an exclusive partnership that will bring business growth and technical innovation to Nigeria. This also aligns the strengths of both organisations in unlocking opportunities within the energy sector, among other key industries.
The MOU reflects a mutual commitment to leveraging the unique capabilities of each partner to identify and promote business opportunities, local market insight and provide quality technical services and expertise to support those opportunities and ensure that market engagement is effective and sustainable.
The partnership spells out clear responsibilities on both parties for effective collaboration and delivery of future projects.
VG Energy will lead efforts to identify, secure and facilitate business opportunities in Nigeria’s energy and industrial sectors. Their role includes promoting Norco's technical services, providing critical market insights, offering regulatory guidance and granting access to local business networks to support Norco's market entry and ongoing operations.
In return, Norco will focus on engineering, maintenance and support for energy systems and infrastructure. They will also deliver training programs to build technical capacity and assist projects initiated by VG Energy.
Commenting on the partnership, Frank Burns, Contract Support Engineer at Norco said: "We are extremely pleased to be able to declare our exclusive partnership with VG Energy via this Memorandum of Agreement. This is a new and exciting chapter for Norco as we expand our presence and service offering in Nigeria. Together with VG Energy, who bring significant experience in identifying and securing new business opportunities, we feel well-placed to unlock new growth opportunities in the energy sector and beyond. We look forward to continuing to play a meaningful part in developing Nigeria's economy while strengthening our position as a trusted global partner.”
Chairman/CEO of VG Energy, Dr. Mohammed Baba Shehu added: “We look forward to collaborating closely with Norco to deliver quality solutions and build capacity within the local market, while also contributing to the broader goal of sustainable growth. With a clear focus on the energy sector, our partnership is well-positioned to enhance Nigeria's economic development and support its continued progress. As we move forward, VG Energy is excited to lead the way in identifying and securing impactful business opportunities, and we are confident that this partnership will set the stage for long-term success. Together, VG Energy and Norco are ready to make a meaningful difference in Nigeria’s energy landscape and beyond.”
